Why We Built This Site
Texas provides several public routes to criminal-record information, yet no one office holds the whole record. The Denton County Sheriff's Office maintains its reports and county jail material. The District Clerk keeps felony and magistrate filings, while county criminal courts handle Class A and B misdemeanor files. Texas DPS receives fingerprint-supported arrest and disposition reporting, TDCJ maintains state-prison data, and DPS also operates the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. We assembled the official contacts, portal instructions, fees documented by the agencies, and request methods so each type of record can be traced to its custodian.
What You Will Find Here
- Agency contacts: how to reach DCSO Records, the Denton County court clerks, and Texas record systems
- Official check instructions: how DPS name searches and fingerprint-based personal record review differ
- Record guides: how criminal court case records are located and read in Denton County
- Record relief: where Texas expunction and nondisclosure materials are filed and verified
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site. We have no connection to any Texas court, sheriff's office, police department, or state agency. There are real limits to what we can help with:
- We cannot run an official background check or pull a criminal record for anyone
- We cannot issue a certified court file, criminal history, booking record, or registry document
- We cannot submit an expunction filing, public-information request, or correction challenge for a visitor
- We cannot interpret a Denton County charge, warrant, or case as legal advice
- We cannot promise that an agency's hours, fees, contacts, or online interface have not changed
Only the record custodian, such as DCSO, a Denton County court clerk, or Texas DPS, can issue or certify the official document.
Search Partners
Outside providers power some search boxes displayed on the site. Each provider controls its service, prices, result coverage, and terms. A paid enrollment reached through one of those tools may produce a referral fee that supports operation of this resource. Denton County Criminal History does not set the provider's charge and cannot determine which records appear in its results. The official county records hub remains the local government starting point.
